He has apprenticed with the top experts of the Austin-Healey Community such as Steve Pike in Australia and his father, another well-known expert, John Wilson.

Restoration Process

If an owner is interested in engaging Healey Lane Restorations to restore their Healey, we first work with the owner to determine their desired outcome. Whether it be a weekend driver updated with an owner’s unique requests, a Concours restoration, or restoring a car to maximize auction results, we help our customers determine what they can expect from their car.

Prior to tear-down, if possible we’ll road-test a car to assess its condition. We check door and panel fit. We document as much as possible, noting unique factory details. We then begin the process of stripping a car down to the bare frame and assessing structure to determine any needed repairs. During the restoration process, we’ll highlight in exact detail the progression of events. Weekly restoration updates are provided via email or phone, or in-person at the shop.
